We don't get into particulars, like how strong it is, or when it will hit. We don't update our forecast every 2 hours. We just show you where it's going to hit. No cones just one place, so either we nailed it or we didn't. Beaumont, Texas is our projected landfall.

Wed - Aug 27 PM, our forecast looks good, Gustav is now midway between Haiti and Cuba, definitely going to make a mess of Cuba. It is moving a bit slower than the Hurricane Center forecasted. Everywhere where it is written PM should be written AM of the following day. Could hit US landfall on Tueday about 2:00 am.

Thurs, Aug 28 AM, Gustav unexpectedly turned south. As of 5:00 AM, Gustav is 80 miles from Kingston with winds of 50 mph moving SW 8 MPH. . The projected trajectory cone is still pretty much the same with the bend northward.

Thurs, Aug 28, 8:00 am, strengthening and slowing- now 70 mph moving WSW 6 MPH.

Friday, Aug 29, 5:00 AM, now 65 miles west of Kingston, winds now 65 MPH, moving NW at 8 MPH. Rapid intensification during the day is predicted by the National Hurricane Center. Cayman Islands, look out!

Friday, Aug 29, 5:00 pm Gustav now 100 miles east of Jamaica, winds now 75 mph, moving WNW at 12 MPH. So the anticipated turn is taking place. Further strengthening is expected.

Saturday, Aug 30, 8:00 am, Now a category 3 hurricane, Gustav will be passing over the western tip of Cuba later today, winds now at 115 MPH, moving NW at 12 miles per hour. The forecasted trajectory cone by the National Hurricane Center, made on August 26, has changed very little,with a center of the cone still very close to New Orleans. Terrible hurricane, but excellent forecasting. Could be some last minute changes on Tuesday as hurricane approaches shore.

Sunday, Aug 31, 7:00 am CDT. Gustav is 375 miles SE of the mouth of the Mississippi River, winds at 120 MPH, moving 16 MPH.

Monday, Sep 1, 4:00 am CDT, Gustav is centered 115 miles SSE of New Orleans, winds at 115 MPH, moving 16 mph. Landfall should occur this morning as a Cat III hurricane. Projected path has it moving the Northwest with diminishing winds..
